Community-based services
Supporting mothers, nurturing children and strengthening families — accessible, evidence-informed, family-centred care from pregnancy through early childhood.

The challenge
Pregnancy, childbirth and the early years are critical for lifelong health and development. Yet maternal health, child development and family wellbeing are often addressed separately.
The MCH Center brings these needs together, providing accessible, evidence-informed, family-centred care from pregnancy through early childhood.
Our approach
Maternal health
Antenatal and postnatal care, maternal wellbeing and health education.
Child health and development
Growth, developmental monitoring, early identification and support.
Parent and caregiver support
Responsive caregiving, positive parent–child relationships and early learning.
Mental wellbeing
Emotional wellbeing integrated into maternal and child health, with referral when specialist support is needed.
Why early years matter
The early years are a period of rapid physical, emotional and cognitive development.
Our approach is informed by nurturing care, supporting responsive caregiving, learning and play, nutrition, safety and strong relationships.
Healthy beginnings → Responsive families → Stronger development
Powered by evidence
Research informs practice, while the experiences of mothers, children and families help us understand what works in real-world settings.
The Center also works with the District Health Department, Rawalpindi on health-systems strengthening.
Our impact
For mothers
Better support through pregnancy and the postnatal period.
For children
Early attention to health, development and wellbeing.
For families
Stronger knowledge, caregiving and support.
For health systems
Connecting evidence, services and community needs.
