This training course is offered by the Global Institute of Human Development (GIHD), an academic and research institute, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. It builds practical, transferable skills that prepare you to meaningfully support young people's mental health in your community — with no clinical background required.
In this training course, the content is organised into 9 modules. Each module is designed to guide participants step by step through the core strategies, including psychoeducation, stress management, behavioural activation, and problem solving.
Issued by GIHD upon successful completion of all modules and practical work.
On completing the EASE Training Program, you will receive a certificate issued by the Global Institute of Human Development (GIHD).
"This programme gave me practical tools I could immediately use. The structured modules and supervision made me feel genuinely prepared to support young people."
"I had no background in mental health, but the beginner-friendly design made everything accessible. The caregiver modules were especially valuable for my work."
"The self-care module was something I didn't expect but truly needed. GIHD clearly designed this with the helper's wellbeing in mind — not just the young people."
Upon completing the EASE Training Programme, participants will be equipped to support young people in community and school-based settings. They will have developed the confidence to facilitate structured sessions with adolescents and their caregivers, applying the EASE competency framework in real-world contexts. Graduates will understand how to identify signs of emotional distress, conduct basic risk assessments, and know when to refer young people to higher levels of care. They will also have practised safe and ethical support, with a strong foundation in self-care to sustain their own wellbeing. Beyond individual skills, participants will leave as part of a broader movement to improve mental health outcomes for young people.
This programme focuses on life skills development and peer support. It does not train participants to provide therapy.
Join this programme and gain the skills to empower young people, strengthen communities, and create meaningful impact.
