An interactive policy lab bringing together policymakers, young people, researchers, implementation partners and funders to explore practical pathways for translating BEING innovations into national policy, implementation planning and health system strengthening.

The workshop will conclude with a concise BEING Global Mental Health Policy Lab Communiqué, highlighting key recommendations for presentation during the Ministerial Sessions and informing the development of Islamabad Declaration.

Led by: Lived Experience Experts

An interactive workshop bringing together people with lived experience, young people, researchers, policymakers and mental health professionals to recognise lived experience as expertise and explore practical approaches for meaningful, safe and equitable engagement across mental health policy, research and services.

The workshop will conclude with practical recommendations for strengthening lived-experience participation and leadership in mental health systems, with key messages to inform the Summit discussions and Islamabad Declaration.

Led by: Trauma-Informed Mental Health and Arts-Based Practitioners

An arts-based participatory workshop bringing together policymakers, people with lived experience, mental health professionals and researchers to explore the effects of trauma on youth mental health at personal, interpersonal and community levels. The workshop emphasises trauma-informed access to care, decision-making, services and policies for youth mental health.

The workshop will conclude with practical recommendations for strengthening lived-experience participation and leadership in mental health systems through a trauma-informed lens, with key messages to inform the Summit discussions. It also acts as a sensitisation primer for the entire Summit for participants.
